Has anyone seen my office?

I am so sad!! The office I redecorated and worked in for more than 4 years is now gone, torn down and scooped away. This room also had many memories for me as it was also my 2nd and 4th grade classroom. My 4th grade year, my Dad feel out of a tree and was hurt very badly. He was trying to trim the trees in front of our house and he had pulled one of the branches away from the house by tying it to his truck. He cut the branch and when it snapped he went down. He was in the hospital for a very long time. I remember my Aunt coming to the school to tell me and I ran back into that room to tell my teacher who was also my Dad's good friend.
They say that this will be a very nice complex once it is done, but for me there will always be a bit of sadness at having lost some history and a very nice office!

Happy 4th

Happy 4th everyone! Can anyone out there believe that it is already the 4th of July!! Oh my gosh where has this summer gone already!! I love this time of year. The 4th and the 24th have always been my favorite times of the year, next to Christmas that is. Jaron and Sharla came to celebrate with us and they will probably never come again. It is mine and Gary's tradition to serve at the BBQ that the city sponsors after the patriotic program. I love to see and visit with people that come to visit at this time of year. It is a lot of work and we wore Jaron and Sharla out. We shredded meat for 4 hours! Thanks guys for being such good sports about it. This duty also includes doing dishes at the school afterwards so they really were troopers in helping with it. They got a pretty good payoff though, workers get to take home the leftover meat. It is pit BBQ'd so it is very tasty. Sharla and I had fun making flips for the 4th. We think we could have sold a bunch of them as everyone commented on how cute they were. When we got home Kelsey pulled up with us!! She has been pretty homesick and just couldn't stand being alone for the 4th. We were excited to have everyone here. I hope all of you also had a wonderful 4th. This year it seems more important than ever to appreciate our freedom and to be grateful for the many good things in our lives.
